Medium warm water temperature is not warm at all, it is barely tepid. I stand there and half fill it with hot, then add tepid water to make it warm. I wish I had my old Kenmore Washer, I hate this one!

Re: Has mainstream media turned a social media corner?

I hope you're right, and thanks for your comment. Media does seem a bit twisted by the profit motive while at the same time a victim of its own outmoded practices and ways of thinking; your illustrations are perfect examples. Maybe social is the countering force we need to get back to a better balance?

Re: Has mainstream media turned a social media corner?

In 2003, I watched the media creating the case for war in Iraq while I witnessed many people speaking out against it. The point here isn't the politics, but rather the fact that the media created the narrative and we didn't have the social capabilities we have today to challenge the narrative.

This year, SOPA had the support of the major media conglomerates but the power of Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and the sentiment that was so easily and widely expressed through these channels overpowered the message from the media. The voice of the individual was multiplied and the power of the media was challenged, and SOPA was dropped.

There's definitely something to this.

Re: An Open Letter to CellPhonesforSoldiers.com

Does anyone know a place that actually uses the phones? My father (a veteran) recently passed away and had a newer mototola tracphone with quite a bit of minutes prepaid on it. I would like to donate not only the phone, but the minutes as well.

Re: Era of the Person, Part 2: The Dark Side

The "+1" functionality and asking people to circle you

Re: An Open Letter to CellPhonesforSoldiers.com

According to their site, they do not donate the phones to soldiers. They sell them to a company that recycles the phones. With the money they receive from selling the phones, they provide calling cards to soldiers.

Re: Andrew Eklund’s Slideshow on Social Media Marketing

Thanks, Robert. I agree. In particular now there is a lot of interest in establishing efficient and effective methods to measure the full value of social media. I posted a short overview here: http://bit.ly/h3Ya2k. I'm going to be blogging and presenting more on this subject in weeks and months to come.

Re: Andrew Eklund’s Slideshow on Social Media Marketing

For sure this will be a good discussion. Big and small company want to review all details and information about social media marketing and how does it works in a big community.

Re: Social Media is Being Eaten Alive

I have to agree, I am currently heading up an initiative at my company to develop our Social Media strategy. One thing is clear, Social Media is no longer an option and is expected by clients, followers, potential employees, etc. I am currently working on identifying our current audience and finding ways to measure the effectiveness of our strategy.

Re: Social Media is Being Eaten Alive

Checking a new plugin... hey, it works!

Re: Scene From A Recent “Bloggers Anonymous” Meeting

Yaaaa Chris!
